Brooke Hopkins

For the past 15 years, Brooke Hopkins has been involved in Cleveland’s professional music scene as a performer, bandleader, writer, arranger, and contractor. He has worked with everyone from Rich Little to Little Richard, including Bernadette Peters, Regis Philbin, Olivia Newton-John, Chuck Berry, Tommy Tune, Chita Rivera, Rosemary Clooney, Frankie Valli, and many others. Brooke has worked in the advertising field, writing jingles for companies such as Kelly Tires, Zippo Lighters, the Buffalo Bills, various amusement parks, and also composed all the music for a television news theme package for a regional network affiliate. He has written arrangements for various members of the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and has had various compositions and arrangements recorded for CD projects.

Brooke has worked as a church musician, has lectured at colleges on jazz history, the music industry, and music career opportunities, and has led songwriting workshops. He also teaches piano, and has played at various venues around Cleveland on a regular basis.

A native of New Wilmington, PA, Brooke is a graduate of Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music, earning his undergraduate degree in jazz piano in 1985 and his master’s in music theory and composition in 1993.
