Matthew Skitzki performs jazz regularly at cocktail hours and dinner hours and was a house pianist at the Velvet Tango Room for three years. Mr. Skitzki also maintains an active performance schedule, appearing with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra at Severance Hall and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra at Playhouse Square.
He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Bowling Green State University and Cleveland State University, where he studied with the Grammy Award winning pianist Dr. Angelin Chang. Mr. Skitzki won the 2010 Daniel Rains Concerto Competition, has released three CDs, and has been interviewed by Kickin’ It With Kenny, Crain’s Cleveland Business, Cool Cleveland, WCPN, and WCLV.
Mr. Skitzki is the Staff Accompanist at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio and Music Director at Church of the Western Reserve in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
