Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, and Nyasha Hatendi are joining the expanding cast of Legendary's Monsterverse series for Apple TV. The trio will star alongside lead and executive producer Wyatt Russell, who returns as Young Lee Shaw, a character that originated in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The series will follow the story of Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who went on a secret mission in 1984 to stop the Soviets from unleashing a new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War. The character of Colonel Lee Shaw originated in the Apple TV series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which stars Kurt Russell, Wyatt's father, playing the same role in later years. Legendary's Monsterverse is an expansive cross-platform story universe centered around humanity's battle to survive in a world facing a catastrophic new reality – the monsters of myths and legends are real. The series is executive produced by Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures, alongside Russell, Chris Black, Kyle Bradstreet, Alex Boden, Dillard, Andy Goddard, and James Skotchdopoloe. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character. Stoll is repped by Suskin/Karshan Management, UTA, and SRDA Law; Ineson is repped by Gordon and French and Gersh; Hatendi is represented by The Artists Partnership, Principal Entertainment, and Granderson Des Rochers.
